Jay Hennick is the Founder, Chairman and second largest shareholder of FirstService Corporation, a North American leader in the essential property services sector, serving its customers through two industry-leading service platforms: FirstService Residential, North America's largest manager of residential communities; and FirstService Brands, one of North America's largest providers of essential property services to residential and commercial customers delivered through individually branded franchise systems and company-owned operations.

In June 2015, Mr. Hennick became the Chairman and CEO of Colliers International Group Inc. Mr. Hennick was the CEO of FirstService from 1988 to 2015. Jay defines the enterprising spirit. In 1998, he received Canada's coveted Entrepreneur of the Year award; in 2001, he was named Canada's CEO of the Year by Canadian Business magazine; and in 2018 he was appointed as a Member of the Order of Canada. Jay has also received two honorary doctorates from York University and University of Ottawa. In 2019, Jay received the International Horatio Alger Award and in 2024, he was inducted into the Canadian Business Hall of Fame.

Jay currently serves as Past Chairman of Sinai Health System in Toronto and formerly was the Chairman of The Mount Sinai Hospital Board of Directors. In addition to business, Jay and his wife Barbara established The Jay and Barbara Hennick Family Foundation in 2008 to support education, healthcare, and the arts and have made several benefactions in support of these areas of interest including: The Hennick Family Wellness Gallery at the Mount Sinai Hospital; The Hennick Centre of Business and Law, a joint program of Osgoode Hall Law School and the Schulich School of Business in Toronto; and The Jay Hennick JD - MBA Program at the University of Ottawa.
